Boogie Up is a professional dance company created in 2017 by professional dancer and choreographer Héctor Vega, better known as “Chicken”. The name of the group comes from boogie which means “move the skeleton” and up, up or up, so Boogie Up means moving the skeleton in a big way.
The vision and purpose of the company is to represent Mexico, its country of origin, nationally and internationally in high-level competitions, recognized by renowned commercial brands. Boogie Up also seeks to make dance a profession, both among its members and among its followers; motivate them and encourage them to learn dance and train professionally.
Boogie Up is made up of unknown or emerging talents, all with the same intention to represent their country in world-class scenarios. Within the company there are trainings and classes, in which nationally and internationally recognized teachers are invited to disseminate their work and promote the necessary education, practice and theory, that every student and / or professional dancer must have. The most practiced styles in the company range from technique and foundation to routine with different dance styles. The intention is to expand the knowledge about this art and train dancers capable of developing and developing in the dance culture.
The full-out style – which create choreographies of different styles, whether expressive, distributive, historical and spatial – is one of the characteristics that identifies Boogie Up, due to its choreographies of great difficulty and coordination; they are created to exploit 100 percent of the skills among all those who perform urban dance and thus be able to offer high quality and originality performances on stage.
